Chapter 173: Husband, save my brother!
Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Husband, save my brother!
The cold, stern man finally moved.
Benjamin Jones walked toward Jackson Taylor, who was roughly dragging Aunt Claudia. “Mr. Taylor, I am Aunt Claudia’s attorney. Half a month ago, my client filed a lawsuit in court, accusing you of intentional harm and illegal detention. The court has already filed the case. Please cooperate, Mr. Taylor.”
Jackson Taylor, who was clutching Aunt Claudia’s hair, loosened his grip, completely stunned. He was being sued?
Not only was Jackson Taylor in shock, but Lincoln Green and Rose Taylor were also frozen in place.
Aunt Claudia slumped in her chair, tears staining her cheeks. Years of grievances finally erupted.
Benjamin Jones glanced at the crowd indifferently, his expression unchanged as he stepped aside. Two operatives from the prosecutor’s office stepped forward to detain Jackson Taylor. “After the court’s investigation, we have conclusive evidence. Please cooperate with us.”
“Sis, brother-in-law, save me!” Jackson Taylor frantically grabbed Lincoln Green’s hand and shouted.
Lincoln Green looked at Abigail in shock, wanting to speak out but was met with his daughter’s cold, even mocking gaze. For a moment, he couldn’t say a word. He suddenly realized that Abigail had never intended to marry Clark Stone from the beginning.
The only reason she didn’t oppose was because she had already prepared for this moment.
Jackson Taylor pulled at Lincoln Green for a while, seeing no reaction, and hurriedly went to pull Rose Taylor. “Sis, sis, save me! I don’t want to go to jail!”
Unlike Ruby Green, Rose Taylor had feelings for her brother. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have married into the Green family and brought Jackson Taylor along with her. Seeing her brother about to be captured, she panicked and grabbed Lincoln Green’s wrist. “Honey, save my brother! He is being wronged. Please save him!”
“Yes, brother-in-law, save me! I was doing things for you. You can’t just ignore me…” Jackson Taylor echoed Rose Taylor’s plea to Lincoln Green.
Lincoln Green looked at the prosecutor’s office personnel. “Is there some misunderstanding here? Jackson and Aunt Claudia are employees of the Green family. Even if there are conflicts, they are minor issues and do not need to go to court.”
“After investigation, it is established that Jackson Taylor committed violence and unlawful detention against Ms. Claudia. Please do not obstruct official duties.” They spoke as the prosecution personnel forcibly took Jackson Taylor outside.
Rose Taylor fell into chaos. “Abigail, did you hire this lawyer? How can you do this to your uncle?”
Abigail looked at Rose Taylor like a Joker. “Uncle? I don’t recall ever having an uncle.”n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Honey, please ask Abigail for help. Jackson is still my brother. How can she side with an outsider against her own uncle?” Rose Taylor implored Lincoln Green after hearing Abigail’s words, crying as she turned to him.
Lincoln Green felt everyone’s eyes on him, his dignity in tatters. Rose Taylor’s plea finally made him glare at Abigail coldly. “You unfilial daughter! Didn’t you hear? Get this old hag to withdraw the lawsuit. You must be crazy, treating your own family like this for an outsider. Have you no conscience?”
Benjamin Jones furrowed his brow and looked at Abigail. “Miss Green, do you need assistance?”
“No need. I will handle things here. You take Aunt Claudia and leave.” Abigail ignored Lincoln Green’s roar, speaking familiarly to Benjamin Jones.
“Abigail, I won’t leave…” Aunt Claudia refused. Abigail stood up against the Green family for her; she couldn’t leave Abigail alone.
Jackson Taylor, escorted by the prosecution personnel, heard Abigail’s unfeeling words. Seeing Aunt Claudia, whom he had humiliated and beaten, standing high and seemingly mocking him, he flew into a rage. He broke free from the hold, picked up a stool, and hurled it at Abigail. “Fat bitch, you bastard, it’s all your fault. I’ll kill you!”
“Abigail!”
What do you think?
